Time Lapse 2011

Michael Andrus cut a reel of our time lapses from the past year. These images are without a doubt the most painful, tedious, all consuming, exhausting shots we do. They take hours not only to shoot but to put together properly in post. Trial and error along with extreme patience are necessary to hopefully come out with something usable. In an earlier post about New Zealand, I went through some of the problems associated with getting good moving time lapse. The point is that the payoff is worth it. The sleepless nights and early alarms can yield some amazing results if you persist on making it happen. Phillip Bloom, Tom Guillmette and Tom Lowe have excellent, step by step tutorials on their sites if you want a precise breakdown of the process.
